Our Story

The Thrill of the Hunt!

Sue and Steve

Welcome to our shop! My wife and I have been married for 45+ years to which we have our Lord Jesus Christ to thank! It is our desire to keep Christ at the center of all we do including this website. It is our pleasure to now share some of the treasures that my wife and I have collected over the years. My passion for antiques started to take root when I was quite young. My Mom would come home from a day of antiquing and proudly show off all the dirty bottles that she had purchased. Quite honestly, it seemed to me that she was a little crazy. I could not see how someone could be attracted to dirty old bottles! Over time, her passion began to rub off on me. My wife's story was much the same as both her parents were avid collectors. After we were married, a family friend, who also happened to be an antique dealer, would come through town occasionally and show us some of the pieces he was going to be displaying in a local antique show. I remember him saying to me one day, "You know, you should start collecting whistles." He just happened to have one! I bought that whistle and, well you know, the rest is history. I officially had "antique fever". My wife and I soon started our own collections. She loved Depression Glass Ice Buckets and little boxes of all types. My passion became whistles and scales. We spent the next 40 years visiting most every antique shop or show that we could find. We did reach the point where we ran out of room but still enjoyed browsing through the shops. After all, it was the "Thrill of the Hunt!" So that brings us to today. I am now retired and we have decided it is time to start sharing our treasures with others. It is difficult, to be sure, to part with them but our deepest desire is to allow these pieces, that have meant so much to us, to find new homes where they will be appreciated as much as they were in our home. So please, grab a cup of coffee, take your time and browse through the "aisles" of our shop. Do not hesitate to ask questions about any piece you are interested in. And please, check back often as there is still much to come.

Thank you for visiting AgeWell Antiques.

God Bless!
