This is a wonderful Norman Wilkinson Signed Engraving C. 1938. It is titled “USS Mississippi, Perry’s Flagship of Victory and Diplomacy, Nat. Geo. Society 1938”. Wilkinson (1878 - 1971) was a British artist who usually worked in oils, watercolors and drypoint. He was primarily a marine painter. In 1906, he was elected to the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours. This piece has been professionally framed, single matted and has been held in a smoke free home.
