This is a Robert Wallis Hand Colored Steel Line Engraving after William Henry Bartlett C. 1842. This piece is titled “Canoe Building at Pappers Island”. Wallis (1794 - 1878) was an English Line landscape engraver. This piece is from an original study by the well-known William Henry Bartlett (1809 - 1854). Originally produced for the part-work series “Canadian Scenery” (Geo Virtue 26 Ivy Ln. London : 1840-1842) The piece is framed with double matting and has been held in a smoke free home. The framed dimensions are 12 1/4” x 9 5/8” and the engraving is 7” x 4 3/4”
