S 64 19th C. Hanging Equal Arm Beam Scale
This is another great 19th C. Hanging Equal Arm Beam Scale. Not sure of the origin. It has a brass beam, pole and pans. The beam has open box ends and is 16.6 cm long. The brass pans are 7 cm in diameter. one of the pans is fixed. There is a brass spindle to raise and lower the pans. It needs a bit of oil as it is stuck. The Mahogany veneered box is 29 cm x 18.5 cm x 5 cm and stand 32.4 cm tall with the beam. There is a drawer, painted red inside which has a small weight compartment with a rosewood lid and ivory knob. There are 7 brass weights, 20,10,5,3,2,1 PWT and 1 DM.
